Antique solid 8k yellow gold double muff or longchain with dog clip clasp.

Longchains or muff chains became popular in the 18th century and were link chains that women wore tucked into their girdles or festooned across the bodice of a dress. When worn around the neck, they were long enough to pass through a lady's hand warmers and the ends could be attached to each other suspending the muff. 

Although muffs have fallen out of fashion, this would make a superb necklace.
